Holiday cottage in sleepy Skinningrove just yards from the beach and the Cleveland Way Coastal Path

No.5 Stone Row is found within the conservation area of the village. A family owned and run holiday cottage frequently enjoyed by ourselves as well as our paying visitors many of whom have returned to stay multiple times.

We opened in August 2021 after a complete refurbishment of the cottage and garden which led to some exciting discoveries including the beautiful stone fireplace that had been bricked up! Whilst carefully retaining a lot of character features such as the kitchen floor we have put in everything we like to have when staying in a holiday cottage. The accommodation sleeps 4 + an infant in 2 bedrooms, (1 kingsize bedroom with shower en-suite and the other bedroom can either be twin or superking) There is also a good size family bathroom that has a lovely big bath with shower over with lashings of hot water always available. The fully equipped kitchen houses a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, cooker with gas hob and electric oven and grill, microwave and slow cooker. The comfortable sitting/dining room has a log burner to curl up in front of and the large dining table can seat 6 easily so great for sitting at to play a board game or do a jigsaw if the weather is keeping you in.

We welcome up to 4 dogs at no extra cost (get in touch if you have more than 4 and we will see if we can help you)

Directly opposite the cottage is a private car parking area belonging to us so you never have to worry about having to find an on street space. A variety of wildlife can be spotted on the cliff opposite as well as goats grazing and a collection of pigeon lofts.

At the end of the row of cottages is the village shop and post office with a good selection of basics and a few minutes walk away through the village is a fabulous dog friendly Bistro/Bar who do a great selection of meals (including the area's famous Chicken Parmo) and are very reasonably priced.

There are bigger shops and supermarkets a 15 minute drive away and several of the supermarkets deliver. Some of our guests have used this and parked their car up when they arrived and didn't start it again until they left.

Skinningrove is a small working village and is proud of its industrial heritage surrounded by stunning scenery. With pretty fishing villages and the lovely small traditional seaside town of Saltburn by the Sea (great surfing) close by as well as the North Yorkshire Moors National Park a couple of miles away with all of their beautiful scenery and villages there is no shortage of fantastic places to explore.

We were absolutely thrilled to be included as one of the top places to stay in North Yorkshire in Lifestyle and Leisure Magazine  July 2023
